What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a painless, effective, and non-invasive facial treatment that gently exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells and fine vellus hairs. Using a specially designed sterile blade, the skin's surface is smoothed, resulting in a fresh, radiant complexion.
The Benefits of Dermaplaning
Gently removes the top layer of dead skin cells, resulting in smoother and more radiant skin.
After a dermaplaning treatment, makeup looks smoother and more natural because it no longer adheres to dead skin cells.
It can help reduce fine lines, acne scars, and other skin imperfections.
Dermaplaning is a safe treatment that provides immediate results without any downtime.
Your home products will also be absorbed much better by the skin. A double win!
Dermaplaning can be booked at House of Beauty either in combination or separately. We're big fans of using it alongside other facial treatments because it significantly increases product absorption, resulting in even more beautiful results.
HydraFacial and Dermaplaning are the ideal combination for removing dead skin cells and fine hairs, resulting in radiant skin with a beautiful glow. During this treatment, we combine two trendy American treatment methods: HydraFacial and Dermaplaning. Both treatment methods are all the rage in America because they leave you with super-smooth and beautifully glowing skin. Experience it for yourself and see how your skin will glow like never before.
Dermaplaning is suitable for almost any skin type, especially if you suffer from dull skin, fine lines, or acne scars. It's an excellent option for those looking for gentle yet effective exfoliation without chemical peels.
The treatment begins with a thorough cleansing of the skin. The skin is then prepared with a pre-peel, followed by the Dermaplaning technique, which effectively removes dead skin cells and fine hairs. Next, a special enzyme mask is applied, followed by a bioactive vitamin boost that gives the skin a boost. Next, a Biocellulose mask is applied, which intensely nourishes the skin. This mask is massaged in with special ice globes for a cooling and soothing effect. The treatment concludes with luxurious serums and a suitable day or night cream.
A common misconception about dermaplaning is that hairs grow back thicker and darker. However, the fine hairs that are removed grow back with the same color and thickness. This is because dermaplaning doesn't change the structure of the hair follicle. The treatment cuts the hairs at the surface and doesn't affect growth within the follicles. Before the treatment, the hairs taper to a narrow point, making them feel thinner and softer. After removal and regrowth, the middle section of the hair appears with a blunt edge at the surface, giving the illusion of thicker hair. Once the hair has fully grown back, it feels exactly the same as before.
You need to take into account some conditions to have the treatment applied:
After a dermaplaning treatment, the skin feels exceptionally smooth and is better able to absorb skincare products. Hair naturally grows back, and dead skin cells accumulate over time. The treatment can be repeated every 4 to 8 weeks.
For the first two days after treatment, it's best to avoid saunas and scorching, long showers. It's also best to skip a day if you plan on exercising vigorously. It's important to protect your skin with SPF 30 or 50 after treatment, as your skin can be more sensitive to UV rays.
