Glycolic acid
With the smallest particle size of all AHAs, glycolic acid is the most powerful. It works to break down the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to be easily exfoliated to reveal fresher, newer skin cells beneath—for visibly brighter and smoother skin.

Crystal Encapsulation
A cyclodextrin-based coating. This slowly breaks down on the skin, gradually releasing the glycolic acid to reduce irritation.

Glycerin
An effective humectant, glycerin attracts moisture like a magnet, leaving skin feeling hydrated, soft and supple.

Korean Clover Extract
Native to South Korea, Korean Clover Extract works with glycolic acid to support the skin's natural nighttime repair and hydration process. It can help maintain the skin's natural barrier, leaving skin brighter, healthier, and more balanced.

After cleansing in the evening, apply a pea-sized amount of Sleep Glycolic to the face, neck and décolleté, avoiding the eye area.
Follow with other serums and night cream.

High-strength glycolic acid products for home use (usually daily toners) are readily available and often intended for daily use. This can cause irritation and compromise the skin barrier. That's why at Medik8, we believe occasional use of glycolic acid is best—not daily.
Instead, Sleep Glycolic takes an innovative at-home approach to glycolic acid, harnessing the powerful exfoliating effects of glycolic acid in a bi-weekly treatment without the downsides.
Glycolic acid is encapsulated in a crystalline cyclodextrin shell that slowly breaks down upon contact with skin enzymes. This encapsulation gradually releases the powerful exfoliating acid into the skin overnight, reducing the risk of irritation.
With a total of 10% active acid, glycolic acid easily penetrates the skin, improving end results. This is ultimate glycolic power, without the drawbacks.

Read the directions for use and the following precautions carefully. Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Consult a physician if irritation persists. Use only as directed. Do not use on broken or inflamed skin. Contains AHAs that may increase skin sensitivity to the sun. Avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen during the day while using this product and for a week afterward. Consult a skincare professional before use if you are undergoing treatments that may increase skin sensitivity.

The effectiveness of exfoliating acid products depends heavily on two factors: acid concentration and the pH of the formula. A low pH is crucial for activating acids in a cosmetic formula. Each exfoliating acid (AHA or BHA) can be in an active or inactive form. Only when an acid is in its active form will it easily penetrate the skin to address stubborn skin conditions like hyperpigmentation. In Sleep Glycolic, we've optimized our active acid content by lowering our pH to 3.5—to achieve a 10% active acid content. This gives us a truly potent glycolic acid formula. Crystal encapsulation and biweekly use help us control this potency, reducing irritation from the formula to maintain a healthy skin barrier.
